Accounting Manager
The Manager of Motion Picture Accounting is responsible for managing DreamWorks Animation's film accounting function.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and prepare Individual film forecasts.
Analyze participations and residuals costs and record accruals.
Analytically review film distributors cash and revenue reports.
Perform various monitoring controls surrounding information received from film distributor.
Calculate and record film amortization.
Review inventory for abandoned film projects.
Review for impairment of Unamortized Film Costs.
Record accrual of production costs for released films up to Ultimate projections.
Calculate and record capitalized overhead to productions.
Prepare internal film reports such as Gross Profit Statements and Inventory Schedules.
Reconcile, analyze and maintain all film inventory accounts.
Prepare variance analysis on changes in Ultimates.
Special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
Supervise staff of 3 accountants
Provide external audit requests in connection with annual audit and quarterly reviews
Qualifications
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
CPA and/or MBA
5-6 years of progressively responsible related experience.
Practical experience with the application of AICPA Statement of Position 00-2 (Accounting by Producers or Distributors of Films).
Knowledge of various financial management principles, financial statement analysis, business law and plan development.
Entertainment experience preferred.
Excellent oral communication and writing skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of management.
Excellent problem solving skills and sound judgment.
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
High ethical standards.
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to time constraints.
