Burdened by responsibility and trapped by routine, this ogre has lost his roar. In order to recapture his past as a real ogre, Shrek is tricked into striking a bargain with Rumpelstiltskin, trading a day from his life as part of the deal. But the fine print of the contract lands him in an alternate universe where hes feared, all right, but hes also never rescued Fiona or met Donkey, Puss in Boots, Gingy and all his fairytale friends. Now, to get back to reality and his family, he has to find Fiona and defeat the devious Rumpelstiltskin before the deal expires.
Being king isn't for everyone - especially if you're an ornery ogre who smells like the shallow end of a swamp. The natural order of fairy tales is interrupted in the sequel to the Academy Award(r)-winning blockbuster "Shrek." Accompanying him on his mission is a wisecracking Donkey (Eddie Murphy) who will do anything for Shrek...except shut up. Rescuing the Princess from a fire-breathing dragon may prove the least of their problems when the deep, dark secret she has been keeping is revealed.
