This position will report to the Head of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting and will be supporting all activities in the SEC Reporting and technical accounting areas, including any special projects. The individual who fills this role will be critical in helping to ensure quality and accuracy over external reporting and SEC filings.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-day management related to the preparation and review of the Form 10-Q and 10-K (including XBRL detail tagging).
Assist with the preparation and review of other SEC filings (e.g., 8-K, Proxy filings).
Draft financial statement disclosures, including developing new disclosures as needed.
Review contracts to assess accounting implications.
Prepare documentation of proposed and executed accounting transactions.
Research technical accounting and financial reporting matters, including new pronouncements and the applicability to the company.
Prepare and forecast stock-based compensation expense and shares used for EPS calculations.
Supervise SEC Reporting Senior.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting and CPA required.
8-10 years of total relevant work experience. At least half from recent Big 4 experience, with the remainder of experience being from SEC Reporting and accounting research at a public company.
Must have experience working with publicly traded companies, including experience with and understanding of SOX requirements.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines with a positive and professional attitude.
Must be able to communicate effectively with international personnel, departments outside of accounting, and executive level personnel.
Strong writing and analytical skills, high level attention to detail.
Must be able to think "outside thebox", problem-solve, and develop analyses/deliverables from scratch.
Ability to self-motivate, be proactive and function independently.
Strong organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines.
Organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement.
A focus on process improvement and cycle time reduction without compromising quality.
Must be flexible and open to new, evolving or rotating responsibilities.
Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC Reporting rules/regulations and must be able to perform thorough research of accounting issues.
Experienced with Word, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.
