We have an exciting opportunity on iGO for an individual who will collaborate with a talented group of engineers and production artists to help build a new generation of cloth and hair simulation solutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement techniques for physically accurate and photo-realistic hair and wardrobe simulations.
Collaborate closely with the iGO Asset Supervisor to ensure all hair grooming and wardrobe assets will simulate efficiently and at required level of quality.
Collaborate closely with the engineering team in order to develop efficient simulation tools and workflows for cloth and hair with an aim towards realism at real-time speeds.
Comfortable working with local and remote artisticteams.
Provide hands-on assistance and mentoring of simulation artists.
Ensure on-time delivery of cloth and hair simulation elements within established project schedule. If creative appetite is too large, then need to present ideas and suggest creative alternatives. Consistently look for a more efficient way of completing tasks in a timely fashion.
Bid hair and wardrobe simulations in each project. Monitor progress and setbacks of hair and cloth simulation as it relates to the original bid. Appropriately elevate concerns to the iGO Head of Creative Services.
Facilitate meetings with artists to keep the crew informed on project changes and requirements.
Ensure open lines of communication with other departments and department heads.
Responsible for improving the performance of artists on the team. Mentor artists to provide guidance, experience and insight.
Responsible for maintaining crew morale. Foster good working atmosphere and ethics.
Self-sufficient, driven, and high attention to detail.
10+ years with simulation techniques used in live action visual effects and/or games
Experience creating digital media involving photo-real digital doubles with physically plausible garment and hair simulations.
Experience working with software developers creating simulation tools.
Demonstrated ability to provide rapid turn-around of deliverables on fast-paced, short term projects.
Experience supervising cross-departmental tasks.
Experience with modeling and look development for cloth/hair/fur is a plus.
Experience working on hair and wardrobe simulations for live action vfx and/or games is required.
Production experience, especiallyfast paced quick turn-around projects.
Technical background in computer science, engineering, math or physics is a plus.
